My advice is, leave the laptop and phone at home. However, it is such a lovely place, you sort of forget you ever wanted to be hooked up to the internet in the first place.

I am considering buying them a new router and taking it there (any excuse for a return visit). The wireless internet is, let's face it, hopeless.you have to sit in reception to get any kind of signal at all. I recommend it highly, and can only hope it won't be another 30 years before I return there. It truly is well worth staying there for the relaxation it affords. I would say that 'tween waters is suitable mainly for adults, & families with older children. all of the staff were excellent throughout the hotel, nothing was too much trouble, they made everyone feel welcome. There's a large pool & bar with snacks, 2 hot tubs, tennis court, a marina where you can hire boats, two shops etc. Both establishments serve really great food with exceptional service. The friendly crow's nest bar/restaurant holds 'nascrab' crab racing & entertainment evenings, the a la carte restaurant, old captiva house, serves enormous cooked or continental breakfasts too. Our building had a self laundry, ice, vending machine. My party's ensuite rooms had fridges, kitchenettes & staggering gulf of mexico views, air con, fans, phones & comfortable beds. The cute & romantic wooden cottages are still there, along with the original (refurbished) accommodation blocks. I stayed at this hotel this time as part of a longer holiday elsewhere in florida, & had to be dragged away, screaming & kicking! 'Tween waters is uniquely situated & still has an unrivalled tropical olde worlde ambience whilst adding some new aspects such as a gym, spa and new accommodation. I was really relieved & pleased to see that it hasn't changed much at all, which is a good thing. Call them and experience the Gopher Quality.I have stayed at 'tween waters twice - with 30 years between each stay. Let them help you find the right place to rent so you can enjoy that special island vacation. They don’t just know the market, they live in the market.
